2009 Ford Edge Sport

2009 Ford Edge Sport AWD -- V6 Power, Sport Styling and All-Wheel-Drive Capability

Stand out from the crowd with this 2009 Ford Edge Sport AWD, a distinctive midsize crossover that combines strong V6 performance, confident all-wheel-drive capability and aggressive Sport styling. For drivers searching for a used Ford Edge on Vancouver Island, the Edge Sport offers a spacious five-passenger interior, versatile cargo capacity and the year-round confidence of AWD.

3.5L V6 Performance

Under the hood is Ford's 3.5-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, producing 265 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. Power is delivered through a 6-speed automatic transmission, providing smooth acceleration and plenty of power for highway merging, passing and everyday driving.

The Sport model features all-wheel drive, giving drivers additional traction and confidence when Vancouver Island weather brings rain, wet pavement or changing road conditions. A sport-tuned suspension further distinguishes the Sport from other Edge models and contributes to its more athletic character.

Distinctive Edge Sport Styling

The 2009 Edge Sport was designed to provide a more aggressive appearance than the regular Edge lineup. Sport-specific exterior treatment includes a unique body kit and distinctive large-diameter wheels, giving this crossover a lower, more performance-oriented look. The Sport was equipped with 20-inch wheels, with 22-inch wheels available when new.

Its combination of muscular proportions, wide stance and sporty exterior details gives the Edge Sport a distinctive road presence that still looks sharp today.

Spacious Five-Passenger Interior

Inside, the Edge offers comfortable seating for five passengers with generous headroom and legroom. The practical two-row layout provides plenty of space for everyday commuting, family transportation and longer road trips.

With approximately 909 litres of cargo capacity behind the rear seats and up to approximately 1,971 litres with the rear seating folded, the Edge provides excellent versatility for luggage, groceries, sports equipment, photography gear or weekend supplies.

The 60/40 split-folding rear seat makes it easy to balance passenger and cargo requirements, while the wide rear hatch provides convenient access to the cargo area.

Comfort and Convenience

The Edge was designed with everyday comfort in mind, offering a quiet cabin, supportive seating and a commanding driving position with excellent outward visibility. Depending on original equipment and options, features may include heated seating, automatic climate control, power-adjustable seating, premium audio, Sirius satellite radio, steering-wheel-mounted controls, ambient interior lighting and voice-activated navigation.

Because equipment can vary by individual vehicle, please confirm specific features with a Discovery Honda sales representative.

Safety and All-Weather Confidence

The Edge Sport combines its AWD system with traction control and electronic stability control to help maintain confidence during changing road conditions. Anti-lock braking and multiple occupant protection systems further contribute to its practical family-friendly design.

A Great Fit for Vancouver Island

The 2009 Ford Edge Sport AWD is well suited to Island life. Its manageable dimensions make it practical around Duncan and the Cowichan Valley, while its comfortable cabin, V6 power and generous cargo space make it equally useful for trips to Victoria, Nanaimo, Tofino, Campbell River and beyond.
